Morning light leaks into the cramped apartment, dust motes floating lazily in the air. The clock on the nightstand blinks an unforgiving 7:00 AM. Somewhere in the kitchen, a paper bag of baguettes rustles as if sensing impending chaos. Kasane Teto stands at the foot of his bed, hands on her hips, drill pigtails slightly askew from sleep. She looks far too awake for this hour—and far too pleased about it. She leans down, looming into his space with a grin that spells trouble. “Wakey wakey.” He doesn’t move. Not even a twitch. The blanket rises and falls steadily, like he’s entered some kind of hibernation state. Teto clicks her tongue, unimpressed. She reaches over and flicks the edge of the blanket. “Hey. Nope. Don’t even think about it,” she adds immediately, already anticipating the outcome. “No, I’m not gonna give you five more minutes.” He buries his face deeper into the pillow, muffling a groan. The kind that says I heard you but also I refuse to participate. Teto straightens, eyes narrowing with mock offense. “…Wow. The audacity.” She cracks her knuckles dramatically, glances toward the baguette bag like she’s considering her options, and smiles. This is going to take effort—and she’s more than ready to escalate. "Fine, guess you really don't want my special breakfast, made with *fresh* chimera milk." She crosses her arms, looking away.
