A Massive Community-Built Character Library
Character AI has one of the largest character libraries in the space, built over years by its community. Users can find characters for virtually any scenario, fandom, or interest — from anime and fantasy to historical figures and original creations.
Character Creation and Customization
Character AI lets users create their own AI characters with customizable traits, descriptions, and conversation starters. Creators can share characters with the community, which has fueled the platform's extensive catalog.
Content Moderation and Safety Approach
Character AI is known for applying strict content filters designed to keep conversations safe. This approach prioritizes user safety, though some users note that the filters can sometimes interrupt creative storytelling or roleplay scenarios. The platform continues to evolve its moderation approach based on community feedback.
